College of St. Joseph's women's volleyball team traveled to Auburn, Maine over the weekend for three Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) contests against Central Maine Community College (CMCC) and the University of Maine - Machias (UMM). The Lady Saints won each game by the score of 3-0.
Game one against CMCC on Saturday, Sept. 15 proved to be a lopsided win for CSJ. The Saints defeated the Mustangs 25-12, 25-11 and 25-13 for their first sweep of the weekend.
CSJ took on a tougher opponent in UMM the following game. Last weekend, the Clippers recorded a 3-1 win over CSJ at a tournament hosted by Paul Smith's College (on Sept. 8). This weekend, the Lady Saints turned the tide and earned a 3-0 win over UMM. CSJ came close to being forced into a fourth set but rallied to take final set 26-24. The Saints were on the better end of 25-22 scores in the first two sets.
CMCC fell to 0-5 on Sunday, Sept. 16 after being dealt a 3-0 loss by CSJ in the final game of the weekend. The Lady Saints returned to Vermont with a much-improved season record of 3-1. The three wins put them in excellent standing in the YSCC.
CSJ takes the court again on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at North Country Community College for a 7pm contest.
