College of St. Joseph's women's basketball team defeated Word of Life 99-22 on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The Fighting Saints jumped out to a 29-4 lead after the first quarter, with the help of 10 points by Crisalida Chaplin. Sabrena Eye had six points, six rebounds in the first frame. Word of Life's Mikayla Kupe scored her team's four points.
CSJ shot 45 percent from the field in the first quarter and 46 percent in the second. LaShaunte White had seven points for CSJ in the second frame and Daija Black had six en route to winning the quarter 27-10.
The Saints limited Word of Life to just eight second-half points, all of which were in the third quarter. Eye had eight points in both the third and fourth quarters for a 16-point second half on her own.
Eye finished with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds. Four other Fighting Saints scored in double figures: White (16 points), Chaplin (16 points), Black (14 points) and Rachel Bruneel (12 points).
CSJ plays next on Friday, Dec. 7 at home versus New Hampshire Technical Institute at 7:30pm. A link to live stream will be available before the game.
