College of St. Joseph's women's basketball team plays Fisher College on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 5pm.
Fisher is 6-1 on the season. CSJ and the Falcons have played one common opponent in UMaine Machias. The Saints traveled to Machias and fell 69-55 on Nov. 4. Fisher hosted the Machias Clippers on Nov. 7 and won 81-55.
The Falcons have also picked up wins over Villa Maria (64-61), UMaine Fort Kent (77-67), UMaine Presque Isle (63-35) and Rivier University (77-66). Their lone lone came on Nov. 13 at UMass Lowell (79-45).
Vivian Lara leads Fisher in scoring at 22.1 points per game (PPG). She has shot 22-for-66 from the 3-point line this year - the most makes and attempts on the squad. She also leads the Falcons with 8.9 rebounds per game (RPG). Kellie Gaston and Jenny-Lynn Eggers are also averaging double digit scoring for the Falcons, with 14.7 and 12.6 PPG, respectively. Shaniah Hazard is averaging 8.7 RPG and starter Jocelyn Mendoza is pulling down 7.1 RPG.
Junior Daija Black is leading the Fighting Saints in scoring with 11.3 PPG. She is third on the team in rebounds (3.5 RPG) and assists per game (1.8). Senior NaKeeya Goodman-Boddie is averaging 10.7 PPG and leads the team in rebounds (6.5 RPG) and assists per game (2.7). Sophomore center Sabrena Eye has been consistent in the post for CSJ, shooting 50 percent from the field to average 9.3 PPG while pulling down 6.0 RPG.
The Fighting Saints will hope for their second road win of the year Wednesday before hosting Davis College on Friday, Nov. 30 at 5pm.
