Sierra Jaeger named CSJ Athlete of the Week

College of St. Joseph selects Sierra Jaeger as CSJ Athlete of the Week. She is a junior from Weedsport, N.Y. studying Pre-Physical Therapy and Strength & Conditioning at CSJ. This season, she recorded 28 runs, 19 RBI, five double, six stolen bases, one home run and a .333 batting average for the Lady Saints. Sierra's first home run of the season came during the most crucial time of the year, the Yankee Small College Conference playoffs. Sierra stepped up to play arguably her best softball of the year during YSCC playoff weekend, earning her CSJ Athlete of the Week honors. On Saturday, May 5 she went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a home run, in the Lady Saints' 7-1 semifinal win over Southern Maine Community College. The Saints trailed 1-0 after two innings but with the help of Jeager and her three RBI and two runs scored, CSJ scored three runs in the third inning, two in the fourth and two in the sixth to advance to the YSCC championship game. In Saturday's championship game, which CSJ lost 5-2, Jaeger recorded two of the Saints' five total hit throughout seven innings. She also scored one run.
