Saints face NCAA competitor Johnson State

College of St. Joseph's softball team travels to Johnson State College for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Johnson is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III team.

The match-up was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 15 but was changed to Friday due to expected inclement weather.

CSJ is 9-13 on the season after picking up two wins over SUNY Delhi on Tuesday, April 10. The Fighting Saints defeated Delhi 13-5 and 16-5, both in five innings.

Johnson is 1-11 on the year. They earned a 8-6 win in Florida against Alverno College on Feb. 28. Kaitlynn Woodward leads the team with seven hits, including two doubles and two triples. Nicole Mooney and Lindsey LaPerle each have one double, one triple and three RBI so far this season. Woodward has played the most innings on the mound for the Badgers and holds a 1-7 record.

Timell Montgomery has recorded four doubles, two triples, four home runs and 16 RBI for the Lady Saints this year. Shelby Fenton has amassed three doubles, three home runs and 24 RBI. Vanessa Quigley has also driven home 16 RBI.

Due to the rescheduling of the Johnson State contests, CSJ will have the weekend off from games and play next on Wednesday, April 18 at Fisher College.
