College of St. Joseph selects Timell Montgomery as CSJ Athlete of the Week. Timell is a first year player from San Diego, Calif. studying psychology at CSJ. In the past week Timell has blossomed offensively. She recorded 14 hits and 14 RBI through eight games. Four of her hits were home runs, setting a season-high in the category for the team overall. In a 16-11 win at Dean College on April 5, Timell went 3-for-4 at the plate. Two of her hits were inside-the-park home runs. She finished with three hits, three total runs and four RBI in the contest. In the second part of the doubleheader at Dean, a 7-6 loss for the Lady Saints, Timell notched three RBI off two hits - one double and one triple- and scored one run. Against Southern Maine on April 8, Timell's one hit was a three-run homer in the second inning that helped CSJ clinch the 9-5 win. She notched three runs, two hits and two RBI in the Lady Saints' 16-5 win over SUNY Delhi on April 10. Timell currently holds a .339 batting average, .393 on base percentage and a .696 slugging percentage. She leads the Lady Saints in home runs (four), triples (two) and is second in doubles (four). Timell has racked up 16 runs, 15 RBI and three stolen bases this season. She and the rest of the Lady Saints travel to Johnson State College for their next contest on Sunday, April 15.
