College of St. Joseph's men's basketball team hosts New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) Friday, Dec. 7 at 5:30pm.
NHTI are 9-1 and 5-1 in conference play. Their last contest was a 98-49 win against Word of Life on Dec. 3 at the Hogan Camps Holiday Festival. Malique Hughes recorded 28 points (5-for-7 shooting from 3-point range), 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the Lynx.
On Dec. 1, NHTI defeated Paul Smith's College 108-86. J'Quavious Thurmond shot 10-for-12 from the field on his way to a team-high 23 points. He also had eight rebounds, four assists one steal and one block. The Lynx are averaging 101 points per game after their weekend games.
CSJ is 5-9 after a facing strong opponents over the past two contests. They are coming off of a 107-71 loss to United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Champions Berkeley College on Dec. 2. CSJ'S Mickalous Snowden scored 16 points and Brian Kennedy recorded 15. On Wednesday, Dec. 5 the Saints fell to Vermont Technical College 127-102. Snowden dropped 40 points.
CSJ's Charles Isaac Jr. is avg 20.3 points per game (PPG) and 6 rebounds. Kennedy is averaging 15.8 PPG and 3.4 rebounds per game. Snowden is third on the team, averaging 13.8 PPG, as well as 1 steal. Eliacin averages 9.8 PPG, 3.2 assists, and 2.4 steals per game.
After the Fighting Saints host NHTI Friday, CSJ plays UMaine-Fort Kent at home on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 4pm.
