College of St. Joseph men's basketball team travels to Vermont Technical College (VTC) on Wednesday Dec. 5 for a 7pm contest.
VTC is 8-2 on the season. VTC played in the Northern Vermont University (NVU) Tip Off Classic on Nov. 8 and 9, facing off against both NVU-Lyndon and NVU-Johnson. The Knights defeated Lyndon 91-71 on Nov. 8. Eric Montanez came off the bench to score 20 points (10-for-16 shooting from the field) for VTC. Forward Tyrone Hilson scored 17 points and had 9 rebounds, just one rebound short of a double-double, in the victory.
Against Johnson, Vermont Tech's Trekel Douglas scored 35 points and had 11 rebound and six assists in an 83-69 victory for the Knights. Montanez had 15 points, eight rebounds. CSJ also played Lyndon in the NVU- Lyndon Tip Off Classic. Brian Kennedy came off the bench and produced 26 points with 3 steals and assists. Starter Charles Isaac Jr. recorded 19 points and five rebounds. Mickalous Snowden added 14 points in their loss against Lyndon.
VTC most recently played Bryant & Stratton (albany) on Dec. 2 and lost 62-21 on a buzzer-beater layup on their home court. Douglas led VTC with 18 points off the bench. The Fighting Saints hosted Bryant & Stratton on Nov. 10 and won 81-75. Brian Kennedy scored 30 points for CSJ and had five rebounds.
