College of St. Joseph's baseball team plays three games against Central Maine Community College starting Friday, April 12 at 1pm at Lewiston High School in Maine. On Saturday, April 13 the Fighting Saints host the Mustangs for a doubleheader beginning at 1pm.
The Mustangs are 7-10 overall. The Saints are 8-10. The two teams met during the fall baseball season and CSJ came away with 11-3 and 12-1 victories.
Justin Holmberg threw a complete game with 12 strikeouts and just two hits allowed in game one. Mathew Santiago went 3-for-3 at the plate. William Leino was on the mound for CSJ in the second contest. He allowed 3 hits, 1 run and threw 6 strikeouts in 5.0 innings. Read a full recap of the fall match-up here.
The Mustangs are coming off two wins and a loss against New Hampshire Technical Institute between April 5 and 6.
Saturday will be CSJ's home opener, since field conditions caused last weekend's scheduled home game to be played away. The doubleheader on April 13 is scheduled for 1pm and 3pm.
