Saints look forward to midweek game at NHTI

College of St. Joseph's baseball team plays New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) on Wednesday, April 10 at 4pm in Concord, N.H. It is scheduled to be a 9-inning contest.

The Fighting Saints are 8-9 on the year after a 3-2 win at Great Bay Community College and two tough losses at Fisher College. During the fall baseball season, CSJ took on NHTI on Sept. 9 and won 5-0 and 15-4. The second game lasted five innings. Justin Homberg threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts to earn the win in game one. William Leino earned the win on the mound in game two. Read a full recap of the fall doubleheader here.

NHTI is 3-16 on the year. On April 5 they picked up a 10-4 victory against Central Maine Community College. Damien St. Pierre threw the first 5.0 innings in for NHTI. He gave up 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 7. Second baseman Zach Mann had 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 RBI and left fielder Cody Dolloff had 2 hits, 1 run.

On April 6, the Lynx lost to CMCC twice, both by the score of 6-5. In the first game, NHTI's Adam Young threw 6.0 innings. He gave up 5 hits, 4 runs and recorded 3 strikeouts. Michael Tolman subbed in for relief and allowed 1 hit, 2 runs. Jason Taylor recorded 2 hits, 1 run, 1 RBI and to lead the Lynx offensively. In the second game of the day, James Cardello threw a complete game for the Lynx. He gave up 10 hits, 6 runs, 3 walks and struck out six. Cardello, Bennett Curin and Matthew Lemire each had 2 hits.

The Fighting Saints defeated Central Maine 11-3 and 12-1 during the fall season. CSJ is scheduled to play the CMCC Mustangs this Saturday, April 13 at 1pm and 3 pm at home.
