College of St. Joseph selects Brian Quezada as CSJ Athlete of the Week. He is a sophomore from Queens, N.Y. and plays third base for the Fighting Saints. On Saturday, May 5 CSJ hosted Pine Manor College for a doubleheader. In game one, a 13-0 win for the Saints, Brian went 4-for-4 at the plate and recorded a team-high three RBI. One of his four singles drove home two runs. In game two, a contest where the Fighting Saints trailed for the majority of the game, Brian stepped up under pressure in the bottom of the seventh inning. With CSJ trailing 3-2 and two outs on the scoreboard, he recorded his first hit of the game in what could not have been a more timely fashion. His long single allowed Salvador Cimino to sprint from his position at first base all the way home to tie the game at three. A walkoff single by Petar Rumora completed the Fighting Saints' comeback. Brian leads the team overall in RBI (25) and is second in hits (44) and doubles (7). He has scored 18 runs for CSJ throughout the year and has accumulated a .303 batting average (good for second-highest on the team), .380 on base percentage, and .361 slugging percentage.
